MANILA, Philippines - Motor Image Pilipinas (MIP), the exclusive distributor of Subaru, has announced that it will be showcasing the complete model line-up at the upcoming Manila International Auto Show on April 15 to 18 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. World renowned precision driver Russ Swift will also put to the test the Subaru Impreza again when he returns to showcase his trademark daredevil maneuvers.
This will be the first motor show that Motor Image will be showcasing its all-new model lineup led by the new Subaru Outback and Legacy range, which were introduced in the market last November. The Subaru Legacy has already won accolades including the 2009 Philippines’ Car of the Year. The Outback, on the other hand, was awarded by highly-respected Motor Trend Magazine as its 2010 SUV of the year, citing Subaru as “successfully reshaping the very definition of sport utility vehicle”. Also on display will be the legendary Impreza WRX STI, the Impreza 2.0R Sport, the turbo-charged Forester and the Tribeca.
Precision driver Russ Swift will be back to thrill Manila again as he returns to perform his trademark daredevil moves such as the parallel parking maneuver, two-wheel driving, and the “dance” routine using the Impreza WRX and will try to set a new world record in “doughnuts” with the Impreza WRX STI. Russ Swift currently holds an unbeaten Guinness World Record for parallel parking and was a two time British Autofest Champion and England’s Autotest Team Captain in 1982 and 1983. In 2004, he set a Guinness World Record for making 10 complete spins or “doughnuts” in just 16.07 seconds, a mere 1.6 seconds for each complete spin.
Original Subaru and Motor Image Racing Team merchandise and accessories will also be on sale to the public. Adding allure will be the famous Subaru girls who will be present to assist all visitors to the exhibit. Subaru Club of the Philippines (SCP) will be showcasing their rides the whole day of Saturday, April 17. The Manila International Auto Show will run from April 15 to 18 and will be held at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
