MANILA, Philippines - Suzuki, one of the leading Japanese motorcycle brands in the country, kicked off its 2010 activities with the Suzuki Invasion, a program of marketing activities which hopes to bring the brand even closer to Filipino consumers.
With the first leg held last January 17-19, at Lipa City, Batangas, all succeeding Suzuki Invasion events will showcase all of the brand’s solo models particularly, the new Suzuki Skydrive, the Suzuki Thunder, and the Suzuki Raider models. Also on display will be the latest line of Suzuki-branded riding gear and apparel, such as safety helmets, luggage boxes, riding jackets, riding pants, sports shirts and other items.
Racing fans will have the opportunity to take a closer look at Team Suzuki’s racing bikes, which ended the 2009 season with national championships in the 115 Open and 115 Sports Production categories, and first runner-up in the 150 Open and 180 Automatic Open categories.
The Suzuki Invasion is not just a roadshow exhibit, but will also serve as a service caravan. Ten service bays will be set up to provide free service check-ups for Suzuki motorcycle owners, who will also receive free snacks. The service area will also offer a Safety Riding Seminar.
The highlight of the Suzuki Invasion programme are the fun games and entertainment in store for the public. Suzuki will be staging a stunt show as well as live band concerts for the enjoyment of Suzuki fans. A dance competition, dubbed Show Me Da Moves, will be part of the programme.
To test the skills of Suzuki riders, fun competitions are also open to the public. These include: Powerfully Ultimatics Gymkhana, a precision riding contest; the Thunder Real Man’s Challenge, a competition to test endurance, strength and presence of mind; and the Raider Breed Wars, a drag race competition.
According to Benedict ‘Lakay’ Arreola, senior marketing manager for Suzuki motorcycles, “In the 25 years that Suzuki has been present in the Philippines, we have built a strong base of loyal Suzuki enthusiasts who appreciate the performance and reliability of Suzuki motorcycles. Through the Suzuki Invasion, we hope to build a stronger relationship with Filipino consumers and show them the Suzuki Way of Life, which is founded on the SAFE philosophy – Safe, Active, Fashionable, and Easy to Use.”
Meanwhile, for tricycle operators, Suzuki will continue its highly-successful outreach program billed “Mola Bira, Bida and Toda” campaign, with an event scheduled this week, January 27 to 29 at Nasugbu, Batangas.
During the three-day campaign, tricycle drivers and operators are treated to a fiesta-like celebration which includes a stunt show, fun games, trike-khana challenge, a talent contest dubbed as Talentadong TODA, a Mutya ng TODA beauty pageant, as well as a safety riding and preventive maintenance seminar.
Suzuki owners get free engine oil plus snacks and give-aways when they avail of the service campaign which includes free oil change and service check-up. Several test units of the Suzuki Mola are also available for test rides.
