Cabrio a-comin'
MANILA, Philippines - ’Tis the season of the small car… Well, at least for this writer it was. Apart from getting a sneak peak at the new Mazda2, over the holidays we were able to take home the MINI Cooper and the MINI Cooper S. We will be sharing our thoughts on those cars soon, but right now, we feel the need to break some interesting news about the brand itself. Though we had initially reported that come official launch time British United Automobiles, Inc. (BUAI) would be bringing in the MINI Cooper, MINI Cooper S and the MINI Cooper Clubman, our sources at BUAI have revealed that the MINI Cooper Convertible would also be among the first few models that they would offer to the buying public.
The convertibles will be offered in two variants – the MINI Cooper Convertible and the MINI Cooper S Convertible – both of which carry similar specs as their hardtop counterparts. The MINI Cooper Convertible will be carrying a P2,450,000 price tag while the MINI Cooper S Convertible will be priced at P2,995,000.
Although all MINI Cooper variants are now available for viewing at the MINI showroom at the corner of 5th Avenue and 26th Street at Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, the brand’s official launch is on the 15th of this month. This promises to be a red-letter day for all MINI enthusiasts and you can expect us to cover the activities at the launch as well. Until then, expect us to give you the lowdown on how the cars perform. Watch out for out reviews on the MINI Cooper and the MNI Cooper S in these pages next week.
