Motul car sizzles at car show

MANILA, Philippines - A certified eye-catcher during this year’s staging of the Manila Auto Salon was the Nissan 240 SX drift car of Autoplus Sportzentrium. Clad in Motul racing colors, the Nissan 240SX is powered by a 410bhp SR 20 DETT twin turbo engine. The engine was hand built for racing by renowned tuners Raymond Go and Pacho Blanco. “Countless man hours were spent in building the engine and the car itself. This car reflects our passion for perfection and racing excellence,” says Carlos Gono, Managing Partner of Autoplus Sportzentrium, also the exclusive distributor of Motul oil and lubricants in the country.

As a testament to its power and reliability, no less than Japan’s number one drift racer, Nobutori “NOB” Taniguchi drove and drifted the D1 Spec 240SX in a drifting competition held early this year. “This is a solid and powerful drift car. I tried to wreck the engine, yet amazingly, it held on and delivered the required amount of power. The guys at Autoplus did a great job with this car, it is the perfect drift weapon and I wish I had more seat time with the 240SX,” says NOB. “No expense was spared in assembling this 240SX. All performance parts were shipped from Japan,” reveals Gono.

Held recently, patrons of the Auto Salon flocked at the Motul display area to experience Motul power. The car is scheduled to compete in racing events in the 2010 Calendar.
