Collectors' cars, fast cars draw attention at Trans Sport Show

MANILA, Philippines - The finest restored vehicles that stood out from the rest were given due recognition at the recently concluded Trans Sport Show 2009 held at SM Megamall’s Megatrade Hall. Car aficionados had a heyday marveling at vintage and classic collector cars, contemporary cars and other restored vehicles that were presented at the show floor.

Taking centerstage during awards ceremonies at Trans Sport Show 2009, as he accepted the plum “Best of Show” award for his magnificent restoration job on a 1948 Buick Roadmaster was Alfred Perez. The car also garnered the “Best Historic” award.

Adjudged worthy of the honor for “Reserve Best of Show” was the 1974 Volkswagen Beetle of renowned sculptor and car lover Ramon Orlina. There were several contemporary cars which likewise gained the judges’ nod of approval, including the 1993 Austin Mini Cooper restored by Top Gear/A-toy Bodykits which won “Best Contemporary 2dr European” and the 1997 Honda Accord restored by Starbright Bodykits/Fabulous which won “Best Contemporary Luxury Sedan Asian,” among others.
