Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation is undisputedly the Philippine automotive market leader. Last year, they held an exclusive motor show dubbed as "The World of Toyota" to celebrate their 2005 Triple Crown Victory. This year, to continue that tradition of automotive industry dominance and sales and marketing excellence, Toyota launched their second exclusive motor show last September 21 at the Le Pavillon in Pasay City, with President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo as special guest.
Dubbed "The 2nd World of Toyota Motor Show", the on-going event showcases Toyotas complete model line-up and its latest technological advancements highlighted by the display of the I-Unit concept vehicle and the 2nd Generation Prius Hybrid Car flown directly from Japan. The motor show also serves as the public debut the of the newest vehicles in its product line-up, the all-new Camry, Hiace Super Grandia, Innova High-end V Grade, and a sneak preview of the upcoming seven-seater Avanza. The motor show will likewise conclude Toyotas September Special Promo by raffling-off six brand new Fortuners, for all customer transactions made within September 1-28, 2006.
Taking center stage at the World of Toyota Motor Show are the displays of the I-Unit Concept Car and the 2nd Generation Prius Hybrid Vehicle. The I-Unit is a form of personal mobility that seeks to attain greater balance of meeting individuals desire to enjoy freedom of movement, harmony with society, and harmony with the Earths natural environment.
Powered by the Toyota Hybrid Synergy System II, the Prius, on the other hand, delivers a higher level of eco-friendliness and driving performance. Due to its environmental advantages, the Prius has become famous in the United States, Europe, and Japan to name a few, and it continually racked awards from different parts of the globe. Toyota has sold more Prius than any other hybrid vehicles combined. This year, it surpassed its half-a-million mark in cumulative sales since the debut of the first generation Prius in 1997. "With the display of the Prius and the I-Unit at the World of Toyota Motor Show, Toyota aims to promote public awareness on the future of mobility, and how the Toyota Vehicles will help them go further on a tank of gas, to get more out of life to move forward with Toyota."
The World of Toyota also showcases Toyotas newest and upcoming models. The all-new 2006 Camry has been elevated by TMP from a sophisticated mid-size passenger car to a premium luxury sedan. With the theme "True Spirit and True Power", the new Camry offers a set of new, class-leading technology such as 3.5-liter V6 Dual VVT-i engine, 6-speed sequential automatic transmission, cruise control, smart entry and start system, vehicle stability control, adaptive front lighting system with HID, and dual SRS Side Airbags.
The Super Grandia, Toyotas bet in the luxury people-mover, is the high-end variant of the Hiace series, in addition to the Commuter and GL Grandia which debuted earlier this year. Toyota positions the ten-seater Super Grandia as a more luxurious and comfortable family vehicle. Aside from two captain seats, this van also features a diesel engine mated to an automatic transmission, leather seats, audio and DVD video system with six speakers, front fog lamps, and added safety features such as ABS, security system, and clearance and back sonar.
The industrys best selling vehicle, the Innova, will also add three new variants in the family, Innova V-Grade in Diesel and Gas automatic transmission and the E-grade automatic transmission. The V-grade is a more affordable alternative to Toyotas luxury minivan Previa. This high-end variant of the Innova series incorporates rear captain seats, leather seat material, ABS, and airbags for the driver and passenger side.
Aside from these new models, Toyota also showcased the rest of its vehicle line-up, including the limited edition sporty Vios, Altis, improved Hilux and Fortuner, as well as the Previa, Prado, RAV4, and the Avanza which will be officially introduced later this year.
To complete the motor show package, the 2nd World of Toyota offers other attractions for the whole family hourly raffle of premium items, free service check-up and car wash, and lots of freebies, nightly band performances by the countrys most exciting bands with Side A, Brownman Revival, Sitti, Bloomfields, Sugarfree, Updharmadown, and Bamboo.
