Consumers deserve optimum performance, the best value for money and functionality for a smoother and safer ride. Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. (HARI) gives them just that with the new Starex GRX CRDi.
In 2004, Starex GRX became the "top of mind" people mover in the countrys van market, enabling Hyundai to post a record-breaking sale of 1,386 units in 9 months. This sleek and aerodynamic van, which has earned the moniker "King of the Road," is powered by a 2.5-liter turbo-charged intercooler diesel engine that produces a maximum horsepower of 145 ps at 3800 rpm and maximum torque of 36 kgm at 2000 rpm. It has a dual-diagonal split circuit power-assisted braking system with pressure proportioning valve to enhance passenger safety and power steering wheels for easy handling.
It boasts of innovative features like automatic headlights which automatically switch on or off depending on the current light settings; fresh-flowing ventilation; sliding doors with safety lock; a metal-cased instrument panel; and a back warning device.
And as a manifestation of its continuing program and commitment in providing utmost customer satisfaction and top-notch quality vehicles, HARI is now introducing the better than ever Starex GRX with Common Rail Direct Injection (CRDi) Diesel Engineuity which boasts of amazing power, enhanced safety feature and a bolder look.
Using a system made by a European carmaker in 1997, Hyundai developed CRDi engine technology together with US-based Detroit Diesel. CRDi "redefines" diesel technology by making the engine run like a gasoline-powered one.
Although common rail diesels are used in some luxury cars, Hyundai is the first carmaker to offer it in the country at Starexs price range and vehicle category.
Starexs new CRDi engine produces a maximum diesel torque power of 145ps. Even with a high torque at low rpm, fast acceleration is possible reaching up to 180 kph. "It is fast, quiet and economical, while maintaining the diesel engine characteristics of higher pulling power," said Fe Agudo, Managing Director of HARI.
Its fuel efficiency is 15% better than other turbo intercooler diesel engines, ensuring significant savings on fuel consumption. With the rising fuel prices, a vehicle that can combine comfort, safety and fuel efficiency is definitely a welcome addition.
The new Starex added safety features like the 4-disc Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) for ample stopping power even on slippery roads. The drivers side airbag is also deployed rapidly to provide protection during an impact or crash.
An immobilizer system was also installed as an anti-theft device. It consists of keys with built-in transporter chips that electronically transmit pre-registered code to the vehicles onboard computer system. Unless the pre-registered key is inserted, ignition and fuel systems will not function.
All Starex GRX CRDi is backed by a three-year, 100,000 km factory warranty so customers are assured of genuine Hyundai parts and professional service from HARIs trained and certified technicians.
HARI is the exclusive distributor of Hyundai automotive products in the country. It received the Outstanding Performance and Contribution in Customer Satisfaction award from Hyundai Motor Company (HMC) in 2004 for its remarkable achievements in sales and after-sales service.
HARI now has 18 authorized dealers nationwide: Hyundai Alabang, Hyundai Balintawak, Hyundai Commonwealth, Hyundai E. Rodriguez Sr. Ave., Hyundai EDSA, Hyundai Makati, Hyundai Ortigas, Hyundai Quezon Avenue, Hyundai Bacolod, Hyundai Cabanatuan, Hyundai Cagayan De Oro, Hyundai Cebu, Hyundai Dagupan, Hyundai Iloilo, Hyundai La Union, Hyundai Laguna, Hyundai Pampanga, and Hyundai Southern Mindanao.
