Kymco spreads good cheer in launch of new motorbike

-
How do you launch a new motorcycle that is designed for business use? If you are a typical motorcycle maker, you might decide to do it in a hotel and invite all your dealers. But S Kymco Pilipinas is not your typical bikemaker. Hence, it is doing a totally different launch for its new Kargador CG150.

Instead of spending hundreds of thousands of pesos in an elaborate launch, S Kymco Pilipinas is giving away one Kargador CG150 motorcycle complete with a sidecar to a poor but deserving family in the metropolis.

S Kymco Pilipinas has tapped The Phi-lippine STAR’s Operation Damayan to choose a poor family from Metro Manila that will receive the motorcycle-and-sidecar package. Operation Damayan, the charity arm of The STAR, came up with a list of nine families who have been chosen from the thousands that it helps with medicines and other health services.

Manuel Sta. Cruz, president of S Kymco Pilipinas, said they have chosen one among the nine in the Damayan’s list. "We picked this family because the father is a tricycle driver and his two children both have hemophilia. The father has proven his dedication to his children by working night and day to support them," he said.

The chosen family will be brought by S Kymco personnel to The STAR’s office today to be awarded the motorcycle package.

Sta. Cruz said S Kymco Pilipinas has a policy of giving back to the less fortunate a portion of whatever profit it has generated. Since starting operation five years ago. the company has sold thousands of scooters and motorcycles.

S Kymco Pilipinas is a joint venture of Sta. Cruz’s company and Kymco of Taiwan.
