Tuason Racing Team Oxygen: On the mark to its ultimate race

-
The Oxygen F3-series collection this summer finds itself in a sleek Formula 3 car driven by the hotshots of Tuason Racing Team Oxygen.

Formula car racer Jean Pierre "JP" Tuason says a Formula 3 car is made of a hundred percent carbon fiber and Kevlar that makes it light and stronger than the F1. It’s got aerodynamic wings for better cornering. Full slick tires are used for grip. It has an open cockpit with no windscreen.

Cooler than that would be this: Oxygen’s F3 collection. With its bold badges, logo treatments and number graphics, the F3 collection splurges with basic primaries & neon-colored accents, stripes, side taping and nylon fabrication.

Another would be the Tuason Racing Project’s new racing school, which is a realization of Arthur Tuason’s dream of making the sport accessible to interested people aside from the elite. According to JP, enthusiasts can get a taste what it’s like to be in the sport without having to buy a P400, 000 to set up. The school offers both Karting and Circuit Car courses.

Tuason Racing Project was first used by Arthur Tuason and his two sons JP & Mike as an avenue to promote racing development. Their team was popularly known as Team Wetlook, a name coined from the Automotive Paint Finish, which Arthur Tuason pioneered. Along with other racecar drivers, they competed in different disciplines such as rally, circuit cars and karting. Arthur Tuason was known for his Ford RS 2000 modified racing cars and one of the first Filipino to compete in Internationally in Karting.

When Arthur Tuason died of Leukemia in 1996, his sons continued the ideals of TRP. For 3 years the Tuason brothers competed under a Japanese team called Morisawa Racing Team where both they were sent to the Japan Karting Cup. In 1997 JP won his first "Karter of the Year" Award followed it up by a back-to- back win the following year. Mike won the ICA clubman of the year award and became the first Filipino to win the Asia Zone Karting Challenge, an international competition competed by teams from Europe, Asia and US. In 1996, JP started running the Formula Toyota cars under the Toyota Balintawak group.
