Romualdez leads ‘Handog ng Pangulo’ mission
MANILA, Philippines — Speaker Martin Romualdez led the House of Representatives in celebrating President Marcos’ 67th birthday with “Handog ng Pangulo,” a nationwide distribution of financial aid aimed at uplifting Filipinos in need.
The program is also intended to reinforce the administration’s commitment to “Serbisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat.”
Romualdez noted that assistance was distributed to 287,000 beneficiaries across the country.
House Deputy Secretary General Sofonias Gabonada Jr. reported that 287 districts and locations participated in the event, each distributing P5,000 in financial aid to 1,000 beneficiaries under the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)’s Ayuda para sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP).
Gabonada said this nationwide effort resulted in P1.5 billion in cash assistance, providing vital relief to the most vulnerable sectors of society.
