MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine unit of tech giant  Fuji Xerox expects a stronger sales performance this year with the launch of new multifunction printers that incorporate the latest technologies to enable businesses work smarter.

At the launch event held recently, newly appointed Fuji Xerox president Hideaki Kato led the unveiling of the 14 new multifunction printers under the ApeosPort-VII C and DocuCentre-VII C series.

“Based on the Fuji Xerox Smart Work Gateway concept, these new series offer enhanced security, basic features and design to support the flexible and diversified working styles of businesses for improved performances,” Kato said.

With the launch  of the new multifunction printers, Kato said Fuji Xerox expects  these new products to account for more than half of the 140,000 units  they expect to sell in the Asia Pacific region this year.

“My expectation is about 10 to 15 percent (sales volume) growth for this year. Half of sales from this product,” he said.

Kato said the company’s Philippine operations continue to experience double-digit growth in terms of sales volume.

“So far in nine months (fiscal year ending in March), we have double digit growth. For fiscal year 2017, we also made a double-digit growth,” Kato said without disclosing exact figures.

“The Philippine market is one of the unique markets in the region because of high working population,”  Kato said.

He emphasized that the overall growth of the  economy bodes well for the company as more businesses will be created. This could present opportunities for Fuji Xerox to cater to the documentation requirements of these firms.

Among the key features of the ApeosPort-VII C and DocuCentre-VII C Series are its interactive user experience; 360 degree data security; proactive and predictive printer management; connect on demand, connectivity with the user’s current cloud platform; and device and cost management.

The new printers feature a 10.1-inch control panel that can be tapped and swiped just like a smartphone with the upgraded interactive user interface.

“The improved menu navigation makes finding menu items easy, with fewer steps, improving overall operability,” Fuji Xerox said.

It added that the printer’s paper trays have an easy-to-operate retraction mechanism that allows to be opened and closed quietly when replenishing paper.

Meanwhile, the new printers are also powered with Near Field Communication (NFC) technology and Wireless LAN kit, in line with simplifying the print and scan process.

“Using NFC technology, a contactless communication can be established between a  mobile and the multifunction devices,” Fuji Xerox said.

The new printers also allows users to print documents and photos through their smartphones just by downloading the Fuji Xerox Print Utility application.

“Print stored photo albums, web pages or shoot and print on the go from your iOS or Android device. Simply wave your NFC enabled mobile device on the multifunction device to automatically launch Print Utility and you are ready to print and scan,” it  said.
