DELOITTE PHILIPPINES AND THE Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines (FINEX) Research and Development Foundation Inc. conferred on Joselito Florendo of the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman the Most Outstanding Finance Educator (OFE) National Award for 2014-2015 at the Fairmont Makati hotel in Makati City. The notable event was well-attended by members and top executives of the two organizations led by Navarro Amper & Co./ Deloitte Philip- pines managing partner and CEO Gregorio Navarro and FINEX president Jaime Ysmael. Also recognized were the regional OFE awardees namely, Arman Cruz of Adamson University, Dr. Joan Gorospe of University of the Cordilleras, Ed Mark Rus- tico of University of St. La Salle-Bacolod and Maria Julieta Torres of University of Mindanao. LOCAL FRAGRANCE ICON JOEL Cruz was recently named an “Out- standing Entrepreneur” at the 2015 Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards (Philippines) given by Enterprise Asia, one of Asia’s leading non-governmental organization for entrepreneurship based in Malaysia. As president and CEO of Aficionado Germany Perfume, Joel has steered the home-grown perfume brand into a moneymaker. Current expansion plans target the ASEAN market particularly Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. Joel joined other big-name awardees, business tycoons, Jollibee Foods Corp. chairman Tony Tan Caktiong who was hailed as “Entrepreneur of the Year” and Mercury Drug Corp. president Vivian Que-Azcona who was named as “Woman Entrepreneur of the Year,” at the awards nights held at the Intercontinental Manila ballroom.
