A high-profile dinner

Diplomatic car plates filled the parking area of the Romulo Café in Makati one evening when two power couples, former Foreign Affairs secretary Roberto “Bobby” Romulo with wife Olivia and former ambassador Jesus “Chuching” Tambunting with wife Marge, hosted an informal dinner in honor of Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario and his wife Gretchen. Prominent guests that evening included foreign ambassadors William Twedell (Australia), Ma Keqing (People’s Republic of China), Robert Brinks (Netherlands), Ivo Sieber (Switzerland), Christopher Thornley (Canada), and Roberto Vallarino (Panama) as well as other VIPs from the government and private sector. The affair was also an occasion for the del Rosarios to have a reunion with their friends from the Manila Polo Club of which Albert, Chuching and Bobby were former board members. Cheers to all!

Hearing center names raffle winner

The country’s leading hearing health care service provider Manila Hearing Aid Center (MHAC) has announced Erica Perez, a hearing aid user since she was four years old, as the winner of an Oticon multichannel digital hearing aid in a recent raffle. Five other winners each received 60 pieces of hearing aid batteries. MHAC is the exclusive distributor of Oticon, the world’s oldest and largest manufacturer of hearing aids, and the high-tech Phonak hearing aids from Switzerland known for its hearing technology for impaired children.
