Philippine Organ Heritage music CD launched
The Embassy of Switzerland in Manila recently brought in Swiss organist Guy Bovet for a special engagement at the Church of San Agustin in Intramuros. The organ recital marked the global launch of the four-CD collection “Historical Organs of the Philippines” featuring Bovet on six of the country’s century-old Spanish pipe organs. Cocktails immediately followed at the Inner Garden and Regal Cloisters of San Agustin Church as arranged by Daniel Zuellig, director of Bridgebury Realty Corporation which owns Zuellig Building, the major sponsor of Bovet’s musical performance. Prominent guests included SGV founder and philanthropist Washington SyCip, doctor Jaime Laya, Gemma Cruz-Araneta, and Monaco consul a.h. Fortune Ledesma. Proceeds from CD sales will be used to provide training to young Filipino organists to preserve our national organ patrimony. This CD collection is truly one magnificent music collaboration!
