To celebrate its 50th anniversary, the First Philippine Holdings Corporation (FPH) led by its chairman emeritus Oscar Lopez, chairman and chief executive officer Federico Lopez, and president and chief operating officer Elpidio Ibañez held an appreciation night for its various stakeholders. Entitled “The Next 50”, FPH presented its pioneering ventures from 1961 to its vision for the next 50 years. FPH is the name behind some of the country’s leading companies in power generation and distribution, property and infrastructure development as well as manufacturing for the electrical and solar power industries. Among those seen at the party were SyCip, Gorres, Velayo & Co. (SGV) founder Washington SyCip, Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) chairman Manny Pangilinan, Ayala Corporation chairman and chief executive officer Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala, Union Bank of the Philippines president Jon Ramon Aboitiz, and JG Summit Holdings president and chief operating officer Lance Gokongwei.
