New home of Asia CEO Forum

The largest regular business event in the country, the Asia CEO Monthly Forum, now has a new home — in Makati’s finest hotel, the Dusit Thani Manila. Organized by Chalre Associates, the monthly round-table discussion is also one of the most important in the Asia Pacific region aimed at promoting the Philippines as a premier business destination to global decision makers. Alcatel Lucent vice president Dirk Dumortier was the recent guest speaker of the forum which was well-attended by corporate executives of multinationals and top-notch businessmen such as Multirational Insourcing Support Services’ Brock Donald and Graham Gulliver, PLDT’s Jovy Hernandez and Mitch Locsin, Northgate Arinso’s Hans Montenegro and Net 25’s Art De Guzman. Congratulations, Dusit!

Always the Busy Bee

Newly-elected Inner Wheel Club (IWCM) president Minerva Tanseco certainly lives up to the name “busybody”. The ever active socialite, philanthropist and cultural advocate was recently all over town to attend to several activities.  First off was her induction as IWCM president by Ilocos Norte Representative Imelda Marcos at Dusit Thani Manila followed by Minerva’s meeting with Supreme Court chief justice Renato Corona where she and the IWCM ladies were honored with long-stemmed roses by the Rotary Club of Manila. She capped off the month by organizing a fun get-together for her long-time friends at the Highlands which served as the culminating affair for month-long round of birthday parties. Keep up the good work, Minerva!

A ‘Green’ Building to be proud of

Setting a new standard for premium office architecture in upscale Bonifacio Global City is the state-of-the-art Sun Life Centre. The first owned ”green” corporate building of Sun Life Financial-Philippines was built to provide a healthy workspace for its employees and other tenants and long-term wellness to its nearby community. Among its features are double-glazed low emissivity glass which allows daylight in, blocks outside noise and heat and a unique roof that “harvests” rainwater for irrigation. Among those present at the building’s inauguration were guest of honor Finance secretary Cesar Purisima, Sun Life Financial (SLF) Asia president Dikran Ohannessian, Sun Life Global chief executive officer Donald Stewart, SLF-Philippines president and chief executive officer Riza Mantaring and Sun Life-Philippines board chairman Jose “Lito” Camacho. Sun Life Centre has been certified by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) for Core and Shell development. That’s one environmentally-friendly building that will surely turn the neighbors green with envy!
