It was the most romantic musical affair of the season indeed as the Mandarin Oriental, Manila under the helm of genial general manager Mark Bradford, recently treated several of the country’s famous personalities to the enchanting vocal talent of celebrated French artist Mouron, known as the “Diva of Chanson.” In a special two-night concert dubbed “Hymnes A L’Amour,” the world-famous and renowned chanteuse was accompanied on the piano by her long-time collaborator British musician Terry Truck and enthralled the audience with her amazing repertoire of classic French love songs. Mouron mesmerized the audience with her performance as she delivered the songs in the tradition of French musical icons Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel, Serge Gainsbourg, Charles Trenet and Juliette Greco with such emotion that one could hardly hear a pin drop. Well-heeled guests filled the hotel’s two posh venues, the MO Lounge and The Tivoli, which were decorated in black and gray to create the right ambiance for Mouron’s captivating performance and to highlight the fascinating sculptures created by French-Filipina artist Olivia d’Aboville. Everyone was thoroughly delighted as the evening’s world-class musical extravaganza was perfectly matched with exquisite vintage wines from Sommelier Selections and outstanding cuisine prepared by The Tivoli’s new French executive sous chef Remi Vercelli. Congratulations to the Mandarin Oriental, Manila for yet another fantastic and successful event!
The city shines with the ladies
The lovely group “Ladies Who Lunch” recently had one of the best luncheons ever as they celebrated the birthdays of Alice Briones and Yoli Ayson at the Top of the Citi in Makati where they enjoyed a sumptuous gourmet feast. The gathering turned even more festive as the affable Minerva Tanseco ensured that all the ladies had fun during the intimate event to strengthen their group’s bond. Happy birthday to Alice and Yoli!
