Putting integrity on the map

Upholding the highest standards of ethics in leadership and management is the Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) as it recently held its 62^nd Inaugural Meeting and Induction of 2011 Board of Governors with the theme “MAPping a Culture of Integrity.” The Manila Peninsula was filled with government officials, socio-economic leaders and business luminaries led by Supreme Court Associate Justice Conchita Carpio-Morales who also served as the inducting officer for the 2011 Board of Governors including MAP president architect Felino “Jun” Palafox, Jr., vice president Elizabeth Lee, treasurer Eduardo Francisco, secretary Pacita Juan and governors Francisco del Rosario, Jr., Francisco Eizmendi, Jr., Gregorio Navarro, Lydia Sarmiento and James Velasquez. Congratulations to the new officers of MAP. May you continue to serve as good examples in leading an organization forward!

A global exchange of wisdom

Multi-awarded stage, television and film director Arsenio “Nick” Lizaso recently attended the International Theater Institute (ITI)-UNESCO Theater Education and Training Committee joint committee and executive board meeting in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates (UAE) as one of the committee’s vice presidents. Aiming to promote the international exchange of ideas in theatre arts, the convention was hosted by Fujairah/UAE ITI Center president Mohammed Saif Al-Afkham and was well-attended by the world’s arts luminaries. Congratulations, Nick, for another successful and ground-breaking endeavor for the arts!

Miss World finds home in Manila

Congratulations to wellness guru and tri-media personality Cory Quirino who has recently added a new title to her long list of credentials — a beauty pageant organizer! During a press conference at the Makati Shangrila Hotel, Miss World Ltd. president Julia Morley who arrived with reigning beauties Miss World 2010 Alexandria Mills and 1^st runner up Emma Wareus along with Stephen Douglas and Paul Lee, formally handed the license of Miss World to Cory — the new and exclusive license holder in the Philippines. In support of Miss World’s socio-civic advocacies, Cory led the entourage in their charity visits to various organizations made more comfortable through their luxurious rides — E-class Benzes supplied by the generous CATS president Felix Ang.
