MANILA, Philippines - For the second consecutive year, Citi Philippines received the “Best Foreign Bank in the Philippines” award from the institutional investment magazine, Alpha Southeast Asia.
Citi bested other foreign banks in the country based on profitability, shareholder returns, independent league table rankings, market share, transaction volume, size and uniqueness of notable deals undertaken, the extent of banking innovation, case studies and client testimonials.
According to the editors of the magazine, Citi Philippines has built the strongest combined capabilities among foreign banks operating in the country. The award recognized Citi as the largest foreign commercial bank in the Philippines in terms of customers, assets, revenues, profitability, loans, deposits and domestic branch presence.
Accepting the award, Sanjiv Vohra, Country Head and Citi Country Officer for the Philippines, said: “We are proud and honored to receive this award from Alpha Southeast Asia for the second straight year. This recognition celebrates our legacy of success, and the efforts of each and every one of 4,900 Citibank employees in the Philippines. For 108 years now, have had the privilege of serving governments, institutions and individuals in the country, and we are looking forward to doing so for another century.”
Alpha Southeast Asia began conferring the award only last year – and Citi Philippines then won the inaugural award for this category.
