ABS-CBN's 'Bayanijuan' bags an Anvil
MANILA, Philippines - ABS-CBN’s 55th anniversary advocacy program “Bayanijuan” bagged an Award of Merit at the 45th Anvil Awards organized by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP).
“Bayanijuan” is a campaign that aims to give back to communities through a feeding program to address hunger and malnutrition among the country’s poorest.
Originally conceptualized by the ABS-CBN Foundation Inc. as an advocacy integrating all its units, “Bayanijuan” re-imagines the Filipino volunteer spirit, or “bayanihan,” as a force to create a better, more compassionate Philippines for ourselves and our children.
Since its launch last June 12, 2008, “Bayanijuan” helped a total of 3,324 beneficiaries from nine provinces nationwide. It also created nationwide awareness that partners want to align with the project and more similar feeding programs are being implemented on various regions nationwide.
The Anvil Awards is an annual event organized by the PRSP that honors outstanding public relations programs and tools.
ABS-CBN Foundation Inc. also won recognition from the “Ani ng Dangal Awards 2010,” which honors Filipinos who have won international awards and prizes. AFI’s “Bantay Bata 163 10th Anniversary Special” received the Gold World Medal for Best Variety Special from the 2009 New York Festivals International Television Broadcasting Awards last year.
