Making a stand in environmental degradation

An outstanding example of how unwavering vision and commitment to excellence can make a difference, Cleanway Technology Corporation (CTC), the country’s first and only integrated industrial, hazardous and healthcare waste treatment facility located in Silang, Cavite recently celebrated giant milestones — the closure of its first secure landfill, the inauguration of its 2nd and much larger secure landfill, and the groundbreaking of its expansion project. Led by The Herma Group of Companies chairman and chief executive officer Herminio S. Esguerra and CTC president Sonny de Castro, guests were given a tour of the state-of-the-art plant boasting of 12 highly-modernized systems and technologies while the Bayanihan, the National Folk Dance Company of the Philippines was warmly applauded for their excellent dance performances. Gracing the affair were guests of honors Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) secretary Lito Atienza, Cavite governor Ireneo Maliksi and Miss Earth 2008 Miss Karla Paula Henry. Congratulations!
