Citi dares credit cardholders to choose their prize

As a consumer, wouldn’t you like the chance to choose your own prize? Not another raffle promotion offering a brand new car or millions in cash or a trip abroad. How about something that offers a once-in-a lifetime adventure? Or for those who want to have their cake and eat it right away, instant gratification?

Citi’s latest promotion dares to do just that – by giving its cardholders the chance to choose the prize they want.

According to Bea Tan, Cards Business director for Citi in the Philippines, their latest promotion was designed to engage their cardholders from its launch – first by selecting the prize they prefer.

“Our campaigns always strive to be innovative, not just for the sake of offering something new, but to give our cardholders and the public what they want. Citi Royal Treat is all about choices – the consumer making his or her choice on their preferred prize,” explained Tan.

Indeed, those who want to be rewarded for all their shopping spend will likely opt for the Triple Rewards Points option, where cardholders of Citi Classic and Gold Visa and MasterCard, as well as Citi Platinum Visa and Citi PremierMiles Visa will earn three times Rewards Points for all their shopping purchases, namely charges they make in bookstores, department stores, appliance and electronics stores, specialty stores and shopping and apparel boutiques.

Tan however expects many of their cardholders to opt for the shopping spree in London. “It’s certainly a once in a lifetime experience. We prepared an exciting itinerary that will make sure the winner will have a wonderful time in London and hopefully turn him or her into a loyal Citi customer for life,” Tan said.

There are many ways to earn raffle chances: every P1,000 single transaction using your Citi card gives you one raffle number or you can sign up for services like Citi electronic statements and Citi One Bill or apply for supplementary cards. Cardholders who choose the Triple Rewards option must register via SMS or online. They can register by sending this message: CITI <space> TRIPLE REWARDS <space> 16-digit CITI CARD and send to 2600. They may also register online at www.citibank.com.ph.

Cardholders of Citi Rustan’s, Citi Shell, Citi Mercury, Citi Clear, and Cash Back are only eligible to join the raffle. The Citi Royal Treat started last Oct. 25, 2008 and will run until Jan. 31, 2009.
