RP’s youngest and brightest marketing minds gather at 2nd Young Market Masters summit

-

Thirty-five-year old Dondi Gomez is the dynamic managing director of Unilever’s skin, deodorant, and homecare division. Newly-promoted, he is behind some of the company’s acclaimed marketing campaigns such as the Rexona First Day High, Dove for Real Beauty and Pond’s Anti-aging and Whitening.

Candice Iyog, VP for Marketing and Product of Cebu Pacific Air is part of the airline’s aggressive campaign to reach out to more Filipino flyers. While Jane Basas, senior marketing manager of Smart Communications, is leading the way for the telecoms firm to tap the burgeoning OFW market.

Dondi, Candice and Jane have one thing in common aside from being under 40-years-old: They are among the country’s youngest and brightest marketing minds. The three of them are among the featured speakers at the 2nd Young Market Masters summit, to be held on August 7 to 8, 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. This event is organized by Mansmith and Fielders, Inc. (www.mansmith.net).

“The hope of the nation lies in the idealism of youth. Through this summit, get to know what some of the youngest and brightest marketing minds in the country have done to address the most challenging marketing and business initiatives in their careers,” said Josiah Go, chairman of Mansmith and Fielders, Inc. “Their achievements will encourage and inspire young people to become innovative entrepreneurs and outstanding brand builders.”

Joining the three are Monette Aldovino-De Joya, advisory account manager of Innove Communication who will talk on the topic “Launching Value Service from a Newer Player: B to B Marketing Excellence”; Carla Chavez, senior brand manager, Alaska Milk Corp. who will discuss “Launching New Flanker Products To Protect Turf: Multi-branding through One-To-One Marketing” and Aurora Mangubat-Suarez, publisher, Summit Media, who will explore the topic, “Launching New Product Categories.”

All the speakers are recipients of the Young Market Masters Awards (YMMA), a prestigious search for the best marketers and entrepreneurs who have made a mark early in their careers.

Candice and Jane will introduce participants on how to launch a service in a new market. Candice will tackle “Creating Blue Ocean Market” while Jane will cover “Tapping the 10 million OFW market.”

Dondi, who will be the closing speaker in the 2nd Young Market Masters summit, will center his talk on “Managing New Initiatives.” He will explain, among others, how to mine consumer insights and convert it to brand unique proposition.

All the sessions of the 2nd YMMS will be moderated by Mansmith chairman and chief marketing strategist, Josiah Go, himself one of the country’s top marketing educators.

“This summit is designed for young practitioners of marketing and sales, mostly in their 20’s to early 30’s. This seminar can help them especially if they hold positions ranging from management trainee, brand assistant, asst. brand manager, brand manager to category manager,” Josiah added.
