Pancake House: A family brand
November 6, 2006 | 12:00am
All families whether big, young or even starting ones may be different in some ways but they all believe in one thing that being happy is being a family. True enough, the family is of utmost importance to a Filipino and each one is a member of at least two families (from the mother side and the father side). As one moves around in the social circle, the number of families one belongs to increases. Now, he can include his classmates, office colleagues, barkadas, gym buddies and groups hes affiliated with as "families."
This is the reason why Pancake House positioned itself as a restaurant for the family and making sure that its menu, ambience and overall package caters to this special yet diverse group of families.
"Pancake House wants to underscore the fact that happiness is being a family, and eating out is one of the best ways to enjoy and bond with one another," said Bernadette Lee, Pancake Houses managing director. "We also want to create that sense of belonging, that Pancake House is part of your family even your extended family."
The four generations of customers are like kin to Pancake House since it was established in 1974. As for the generation gap, Pancake is bridging that divide by introducing new meals and items on the menu that will be enjoyed by the whole family aside from the classic favorites such as spaghetti, chicken, tacos, shakes and of course, pancakes.
"At Pancake House, were big on family. We aim to be the third place they would go to after the home and the office. Pancake House is where grandparents and grandchildren can enjoy each others company and where dads and their teenagers can share a meal," enthused Bernadette. "We are often delighted when the parents and the kids have the same favorites that says a lot about our food... that it is enjoyed and appreciated by different generations."
With this kind of branding, Pancake House is continuously innovating while maintaining the personal service, warm ambience and close customer relation that it has been known for many years.
Building on a base of 20 restaurants in 2000, Pancake House has since grown to a total of 65, with 38 of them managed by franchisees. New Pancake House outlets are located at De la Rosa St. in Makati and Ali Mall in Cubao. For inquiries, call 894-2000 or e-mail: [email protected].
