Since the introduction of Synergy Worldwide nutritional and health care products in the country in April 2004, Almarinez has built a network of over 20,000 independent distributors, and intends to increase the number to 100,000 in 2006.
"For 2005, we experienced over 300 percent growth in sales compared to 2004. Synergy Worldwide has over 500 products but when we started operations, we decided to just bring in the top 20 products. Right now, we are increasing the number of products to 50 from nutritional products that cater to the systems of the body to weight management, sports and skin care products," said Almarinez.
Among the best-sellers are the companys weight management line that consists of Perfect Shape Liquid, CarboSmart and Breakdown. Also popular are nutritional supplements ProArgi-9 and Maximum Protein, hair products like 5-in-1 Conditioning Shampoo, Flexible Hold Styling Gel, as well as skin care products like DNA Repair Creme which is supposed to delay the aging process by using enzymes designed to repair damage to cellular DNA caused by exposure to the sun.
Synergy Worldwide was founded in 1999 in the US. It manufactures and markets a wide range of nutritional supplements and skin care products.
The company was launched in Japan and because of its attractive compensation plan and technologically advanced products, Synergy experienced unprecedented growth.
Following Japan, Synergy opened their Taiwan market in June 2000.
That year, Synergy joined forces with Natures Sunshine Products, a giant in the herbal health industry. In 2001, the merged company opened its doors for business in the US. A year later, the company opened in Thailand. Today, it is present in 11 countries with an actively growing network of independent distributors.

In a market filled with direct sellers of health products and nutritional supplements, Almarinez said Synergy Worldwide distinguishes itself on two points: it has its own research and development department devoted to product advancement and it has a unique compensation package for independent distributors that no other company has been able to successfully copy.
"Our marketing plan is not unique but it is the only one that exists that can actually give true financial independence to the independent distributor. Synergy has a very active and generous compensation plan and it is very easy to do," he said.
For an initial investment of P3,600, the independent distributor can start marketing Synergy Worldwide products anywhere in the world. "For the next 12 months onwards we are committed to put enough support structure and invest to support the growth of Synergy Worldwide in the country."
