Highlighting close relations between PH and UK with next month’s Great British Festival
BGC, Taguig City, Philippines — British-style weekend outdoors with family, friends, and officemates are to be expected in the Great British Festival across Bonifacio High Street areas from March 25 and 26, 2023.
Aside from fun-filled activities and other forms of entertainment, the Great British Festival is finally going back to the Philippines for business networking and to attract more trade and investment opportunities.
Reviving back the event after a series of lockdowns, the two-day celebration will highlight creativity, innovation, arts and heritage – featuring a spectrum of British companies and core values of the nation. Furthermore, the Great British Festival is organised by the British Embassy in Manila, the British Chamber of Commerce Philippines, and the British Council. The entrance is FREE.
The festival will also foster closer links between the UK and the Philippines. For instance, the education sector. There has been an increasing number of students from the Philippines to the UK over the years.
“The occasion is a great networking opportunity,” said British Chamber’s Executive Director and Trustee Chris Nelson in an interview. Nelson also shared that President Marcos Jr. himself attended Oxford university.
Likewise, there has been growth in trade exports between both countries amounting to a total of 2.1 billion pounds of exports from the UK to the Philippines in 2022. There is also an increase in the growth of British pork exports in the country, as led by the British Chamber through two trade missions last year.
With trade and investment opportunities, various British brands, UK SMEs products, food stalls, and live performances will be showcased at the Great British festival.
