Asahi Beverages Philippines donates P14.6 million worth of products to LGUs in support of jab efforts
MANILA, PHILIPPINES — In support of the country's vaccination efforts, Asahi Beverages Philippines (ABP), the local subsidiary of Asahi Holdings Southeast Asia (AHSEA), is donating P14.6 million worth of Goodday Cultured Milk across seven local government units (LGUs) and offices nationwide.
The donations are part of its ongoing campaign, Vaccine for the Body, Goodday for the Tummy.
Goodday products have been turned over to Davao City and Cebu province where Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio and Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, respectively, personally received the donations for their constituents.
Recently, Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso also personally received the donation to the city of Manila.
“Any effort from the private sector to help boost our vaccination drives is welcomed by the LGU. We are grateful to Asahi Beverages Philippines for their donation. Our constituents can definitely benefit from these nutritious products,” he said.
As of June 1, the city of Manila has successfully inoculated 189,270 individuals with the first dose of the vaccine and another 80,151 individuals with the second dose according to Mayor Domagoso’s in a YouTube livesteam. The Manila City government hopes to complete vaccinations for even more constituents in the coming weeks.
ABP will also be donating Goodday products to the Office of the Vice President, the cities of Pasig, Valenzuela in Luzon.
Reinforcing healthy living
Goodday Cultured Milk Drink is a heat-treated paraprobiotic with Lactobacillus paracasei MCC1849 that improves natural resistance to intestinal infection and overall gut health.
By donating to select LGUs nationwide, ABP advocates for healthy living and ensures the availability of these choices to Filipinos across the country.
“Filipinos should be more conscious of their health now more than ever. It’s important for us to keep our resistance up and boost immunity as we continue to live through the pandemic. Through our donation, we aim to instill hope and reinforce healthy living choices among our fellow Filipinos” said Tommy Del Mar, vice president for Sales and Marketing of ABP.
“We understand that there may still be lingering doubts about the vaccine, but we hope that through the government and the private sector’s combined efforts Filipinos will realize that getting vaccinated is the best chance we have at making it through this pandemic and that the best vaccine is the one that’s available,” he added.
Goodday comes in three flavors specifically designed to appeal to Filipino taste preference––Original, Mango and Strawberry.
It is available in 80ml and 350ml bottles at convenience stores and leading supermarkets nationwide. It can also be ordered online through LazMart and S-Mart by Shopee.
