RKF Iloilo rules Sinulog Cup 2025
CEBU, Philippines — RKF Iloilo reasserted its mastery over Welec Trucking Services x AMC, 74-69, to emerge as champions of the Sinulog Cup 2025 Basketball Tournament on Sunday night, January 26, at the Cebu Coliseum.
Cedrick Manzano delivered a dazzling double-double performance with 16 points and 17 rebounds as RKF Iloilo completed the six-day cage wars with a perfect 5-0 record to take home the P200,000 grand prize.
MJ de la Virgen and Cedrick Ablaza added 12 points each for RKF, which banked on a spirited endgame fightback to turn back Welec.
Trailing 65-67 midway in the fourth quarter, RKF closed the match with a 9-2 blitz to baffle Welec at the final buzzer.
Kent Ivo Salarda sizzled with 16 points, 15 rebounds, and two assists for Welec, which bagged P100,000 for its first runner-up finish.
On the other hand, the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters pocketed P50,000 for placing third after trouncing the Cebu City selection, 85-63.
Ricofer Sordilla paced the Webmasters with 16 points, four rebounds, three assists and a steal.
Danie Boy Lapiz chipped in with 14 points, three rebounds and four steals, while Jasper Pacaña contributed 11 points and five boards in UC’s dominant victory. — (FREEMAN)
