MANILA, Philippines — Security Bank Foundation Inc. (SBFI) won a Gold Anvil Award for a Public Relations Program on a Sustained Basis for its flagship corporate social responsibility program “Build a School, Build a Nation: The Classrooms Project.”

SBFI chairman Rafael Simpao said the CSR arm of Security Bank has advocated for education as a long-term solution to poverty since its inception.

“We believe that education is the greatest equalizer in life for it will give every person the opportunity to succeed in life, no matter what his or her social and economic background may be,” Simpao said.

The program’s approach to education is highlighted by end to end initiatives – from the construction of classrooms benefitting the students and the communities to spearheading leadership development for school heads and facilitating technical training for teachers.
