MANILA, Philippines — Bank of China Manila branch has partnered with Fostering Education & Environment Development Inc. to help reduce carbon footprint and became the first commercial bank to participate in the group’s tree-planting activities.
Deng Jun, country head of Bank of China Manila, said the bank’s staff continue pursuing initiatives to serve the community.
“We are called to act as citizens of the planet to save, replace, and multiply our trees. Let’s continue to give back to the community through the bank’s CSR initiatives as we live out our vision of serving society and delivering excellence. Let’s also continue to do our share to provide that hope and dignity for a healthy planet,” he said.
As part of the partnership, the bank’s employees recently planted a total of 1,000 seedlings at the Laguna Quezon Land Grant, Siniloan, Laguna, Sierra Madre Mountain Range.
This effort is part of the bank’s broader initiative to bring awareness to climate concerns and promote environmental stewardship. It finished a culture exchange program titled “In Harmony with Nature” to bring to light the pursuit of economic growth with a consideration to our natural resources.
