Ongsingco joins FMIC

MANILA, Philippines - The First Metro Investment Corp. has appointed Mayo Jose Ongsingco as adviser to the board of directors. Ongsingco was the president and chief operating officer of The Insular Life Assurance Co. for 11 years until his retirement last May. Concurrently, he served as director and vice chairman of the Executive Committee of Union Bank of the Philippines. Other than his considerable insurance and asset management exposure, Ongsingco brings with him years of extensive local and regional investment banking experience. He started work in Ayala Investment and Development Corp. during which he was seconded in Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur for over six years. He then served as head of Investment Banking of Deutsche Morgan Grenfell in the Philippines before he joined Union Bank Capital as senior vice president until 2004.
