IIAP offers accounting course

MANILA, Philippines - Accounting for non-accountants will be offered on Mar. 2-6 at the Insurance Institute for Asia and the Pacific Inc. (IIAP) along Ayala Ave, Makati City. It is the third in a series of courses under IIAP’s Management Development Program (IMDP).  This course is designed for insurance supervisors, managers and executives whose functions and responsibilities may require basic knowledge on how business transactions are recorded in the books and subsidiaries, which are summarized into the financial statements. The participants will be able to appreciate the accounting principles and theories applicable in the completion of the accounting cycle through discussions and practical exercises. The course leader is Rogelio J. Concepcion, a certified public accountant and former financial officer of BPI/MS. Other courses lined up for March are advanced course on surety; advanced course on engineering insurance; microinsurance for life and non-life insurance; basic financial management, and advanced course on motor insurance.
