MANILA, Philippines - The United Coconut Planters Bank (UCPB) has granted a 10-year term loan to Surigao Metropolitan Water District (SMWD) to improve water services for thousands of households and businesses in Surigao province and its adjacent islands. The proceeds of the loan will be utilized to take out its outstanding liabilities with the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) as well as expanding the water district, along with other projects to enhance efficiency, service delivery, and reliability.
