MANILA, Philippines - The Asian Banker, in its AB500 annual ranking 2014-2015 Edition, has named Philippine Savings Bank (PSBank) fifth strongest bank in the Philippines. This is the fourth consecutive year that the thrift bank unit of the Metrobank Group was included in The Asian Banker’s list. This year’s ranking is even a notch higher than 2013, making it the only savings bank in the Top 5. The Asian Banker 500 is an annual study that ranks the strongest and largest banks in the Asia Pacific region based on data gathered from bank annual reports, central banks and industry associations. In the same study, banks are likewise ranked according to an aggregate strength score using a balanced scorecard approach which considers six factors, namely: scale, balance sheet growth, risk profile, profitability, asset quality and liquidity. The bank has an extensive network of 239 branches and 585 in-branch and offsite ATMs strategically located nationwide.
