Green leadership

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - For coming up with the country’s first banking office made out of recycled container vans, Rizal Microbank, the microfinance arm of Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC), has bagged the Green Leadership Award given by the Asia Responsible Entrepreneur Awards  (AREA) at the Resorts World Convention Centre, Sentosa, Singapore. Rizal Microbank’s green banking office is a project created to support RCBC’s environment-friendly and resource-saving initiatives. With this project, the bank opened its first micro banking office (MBO) in Lipa City, and it is eyeing to open seven more MBOs in Southern Luzon in the next few months. Rizal Microbank presently operates 21 branches nationwide, 13 in Luzon and eight in Mindanao. Photo shows (from left) Enterprise Asia adviser Lt. General Sudhir Sharma, Rizal Microbank president Ma.
