Metrobank allots P50 M for Leyte reconstruction

MANILA, Philippines - Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co. (Metrobank) has inaugurated its Palo Metrobank Center, designed to energize local businesses to start over thus creating employment and income for the local residents. An initial P22.1 million for rehabilitation projects has been allocated from a pledge of P50 million coming from the Metrobank Group through Metrobank Foundation and GT-Metro Foundation for Education, Health, and Livelihood interventions in the various areas affected by Super Typhoon Yolanda. The rehabilitation projects include the construction of one rural health unit and birthing facility, about 20 new classrooms and 50 bangkas benefiting fisherfolks in the  community of Palo. Earlier, Metrobank also announced the pledge of P5 million to the Archdiocese of Palo for the restoration and redesigning of the Transfiguration of our Lord Metropolitan Cathedral.
