Myanmar looks into Phl Telco

MANILA, Philippines - A group of regulators representing Myanmar’s monetary and telecoms sector, led by Myanmar Ministry of Communications and Information Technology Deputy Minister U Thaung Tin (extreme left) and Central Bank of Myanmar Deputy Governor Daw Khin Saw Oo (third from right), met with the senior management team of Smart e-Money Inc. (SMI), a wholly-owned mobile financial services subsidiary of Smart Communications Inc., to know more about the regulatory development for e-money and branchless banking in the Philippines as well as learn from SMI’s innovative best practices models.  Also in photo are: (from left) SMI Innovation, Ecosystem Build & Alliances head Lito Villanueva, Central Bank of Myanmar director general for monetary management department Dr. Sandar Oo, and SMI chief operating officer Benjie Fernandez.
