Pru Life disaster risk reduction program

MANILA, Philippines - Pru Life UK and international non-profit organization Save the Children has responded to the pressing need for relief in Brgy. Catmon, Malabon to help alleviate the living conditions in communities affected by tropical storm Maring. At least 500 essential non-food items, which included hygiene, household, newborn kits and drinking water, were distributed by Pru Life UK employee-volunteers to affected families, benefiting at least 2,700 individuals. Pru Life UK, through its charitable arm Prudence Foundation, has allocated a P7-million emergency relief fund for identified areas in Metro Manila and the provinces. Pru Life UK and Prudence Foundation have a three-year partnership with Save the Children. The partnership covers a sustainable program on disaster risk reduction, which aims to equip communities with planning and survival skills to cope with natural disasters. The partnership likewise includes a reading program for toddlers.
