Asia reinsurance award for Swiss Re

MANILA, Philippines - Swiss Re was named ‘Asia General Reinsurer of the Year’ at the 16th Asia Insurance Industry Awards, for showing “extraordinary commitment to clients in a year that saw the second largest insured losses from catastrophes.”
Swiss Re Reinsurance head Asia Moses Ojeisekhoba, who accepted the award called it “a magnificent accolade.” He added: “Our client and broker partners are crucial to our success and we are committed to working together with them to share in the exciting opportunities that exist in Asia.” Meawhile, Swiss Re reported a group net income of $2.2 billion, and a return on equity of 28 percent after the third quarter. It likewise reported an excellent P&C Reinsurance combined ratio of 69.3 percent, and group return on investment of 4.5 percent. Swiss Re was also recognized as the most sustainable company in the insurance sector for the fifth year in a row.
