MANILA, Philippines - GCash, the pioneering mobile commerce service developed by Globe Telecom, is fast gaining recognition as a strong alternative donation channel for various institutions due to its speed and efficiency in handling donations.
Organizations like Simbahang Lingkod ng Bayan (SLB), Philippine Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity Philippines and even the Department of Social Welfare and Development has partnered with G-Xchange Inc. (GXI) to use GCash as one of their main donation channels for their relief operations.
Since GCash makes it easy to send and receive donations with just the use of a mobile phone, institutions are able to help thousands of families affected by the massive flood that hit Metro Manila and parts of Luzon.
In the case of SLB, they were able to quickly receive around P50,000 in donations via GCash just on the first day of opening their relief operations for ‘Habagat’ flood victims.
To donate using GCash, Globe or TM subscribers simply dial *143# to access the donate function. There is no need to memorize the syntax per organization.
