IFRS seminar on July 4

MANILA, Philippines - Professional services firm SGV & Co. will conduct two half-day seminars on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) starting July 4 at the Washington SyCip Development Center of the SGV & Co. Building I. The first seminar, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon, will cover: IFRS 10, consolidated financial statements; IFRS 11, joint arrangements; and IFRS 12, disclosure of interest in other entities. The second seminar from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., will be on IFRS 9, financial instruments. The seminars have been designed for chief financial officers, controllers and audit committee heads. Resource persons from SGV & Co. will discuss the underlying concepts and principles of these standards, provide illustrative examples on their application, address possible issues or difficulties in the implementation of these standards, and give updates on IFRS 9. The registration fee for each seminar is P5,600 per person, inclusive of meals and course materials. There will be a 10-percent discount for registrants before June 25, 2012 and a five-percent discount for a group of three or more participants.
