Pru Life UK bags accounting honors

MANILA, Philippines - The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) has recognized the Philippine operations of the life insurer Pru Life UK and its chief executive officer.

Pru Life UK president and chief executive officer Antonio Manuel de Rosas received the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation from the AICPA and CIMA, making him the first Filipino in the Philippines to receive the CGMA distinction.

The CGMA designation was established to elevate management accounting, recognizing the importance of management accountants in the business and finance industry as they have the capacity to provide communication and leadership skills in guiding their companies while displaying a strong business acumen and financial know-how.

Under de Rosas, Pru Life UK posted a 33-percent growth in terms of premium income, with a total gross premium income of P10.4 billion. Total gross premium income is the premium income earned (first year, single and renewal years), gross of reinsurance, for the period.

Pru Life UK, the sole British life insurer in the Philippines, was also accredited as a CIMA Training Quality Partner.

Under the CIMA training quality assurance scheme, the high standards of instruction for CIMA students are delivered to anywhere in the world with consistency.

CIMA is the largest organization of management accountants, geared towards relevant training to enhance the qualification of its members in the finance industry.
