Sun Life launches improved Dollar Maximizer product

MANILA, Philippines - Sun Life Financial Philippines is launching a modified Sun Dollar Maximizer following the success of its original limited introduction.

Last year, Sun Life launched Sun Dollar Maximizer and it made waves in the market as the product generated an impressive turnout of premiums from the company’s new and long-term clients. Because of the success of the product, Sun Life Financial designed a new version called Sun Dollar Maximizer (US-China-Gold/Bond).

The modification of Sun Dollar Maximizer (UCG) was particularly inspired by promising developments in the global market which include the potential recovery of the US market; the high growth rate of China; the steady increase in the value of gold, and the safety offered by US Treasuries, all combined in one product.

 The new version carries the same features as the first version, but this time providing the opportunity for the clients to experience the “best of the West, the East, and gold” because it provides easy access to a diversified mix of global assets, and the earnings shall come from the best-performing asset profile at the end of the holding period. This investment strategy is called the “best of profile, look-back” feature.

A “limited-offer” single pay protection and investment product, Sun Dollar Maximizer UCG is the only variable universal life (VUL) product to employ the best of profile strategy and perhaps the only VUL nowadays to offer 100 percent capital protection similar to that offered by banks.

This means that the entire single premium will be returned in full when the policy matures, regardless of market conditions.

The life insurance coverage amounts to 125 percent of the single premium or to the fund value, whichever is higher. The performances of the underlying assets, composed of US and China indices, Gold ETF and US government bond, are observed and assessed on a quarterly basis, and the gains will be based on the best performing asset over a seven year period.
