MANILA, Philippines - Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC) has a facility that allows entrepreneurs to find out their loan eligibility quickly and more conveniently with the launch of its new Phone-A-Loan service.
By simply dialing a telephone number, entrepreneurs looking to get a loan can easily find out if they are qualified to get one, without having to visit the bank. This new loan self-assessment service complements the innovative SME Business Web portal, www.getaloan.com.ph, which RCBC launched in early 2009.
This allowed potential borrowers to find out if they could get a loan from RCBC through the Internet.
“The Phone-A-Loan service is another initiative to make the process of getting a business loan easier for customers generally classified as small and medium enterprises,” Reynaldo P. Orsolino, RCBC first senior vice president for Commercial and SME Banking, said.
“By just using their landlines or their mobile phones, they can access our automated loan self-assessment exercise and find out immediately if they qualify for a business loan,” he explained. “No need to set up appointments, compile numerous documents, drive all the way to the bank for an interview, just to find out if you can get a business loan from us.”
RCBC’s Phone-A-Loan service works just like its web-based counterpart. A recorded voice prompts a short series of self-assessment questions typically asked by a lending officer.
At the end of the exercise, those who would like to pursue their interest in getting a business loan can leave their contact information so an RCBC loan officer can get in touch with them.
“The best part is that you will only be asked to give your contact details and compile bank requirements to validate your answers, if you pass the self-assessment exercise. It really doesn’t get any easier than this,” Orsolino said.
RCBC’s Get-A-Loan website was the first of its kind in the local banking industry, and won the Anvil Award for Merit in 2010 for using technology to make RCBC’s business loans more accessible to Small and Medium Enterprises all over the country.
With the new Phone-A-Loan service, RCBC is optimistic of generating greater interest among its target clientele. It is very convenient and simple to use. To know more about it, go ahead and dial 877-RCBC (7222).
