Citi retains best foreign bank title

MANILA, Philippines - For the third consecutive year, Citi Philippines received the Best Foreign Bank in the Philippines award from the institutional investment magazine, Alpha Southeast Asia. Citi bagged the award based on profitability, shareholder returns, independent league table rankings, market share, transaction volume, size and uniqueness of notable deals undertaken, the extent of banking innovation, case studies and client testimonials. According to the editors of the magazine, Citi Philippines proved to have the most “committed footprint” and on-the-ground resources throughout the region. Citi is the largest foreign commercial bank in the Philippines in terms of customers, assets, revenues, and domestic branch presence. Accepting the award, Sanjiv Vohra, country head and Citi country officer for the Philippines, said: “On our 109th year of doing business in the Philippines, we are proud to have served the government, private institutions, and individuals in the country, and to remain their financial partner of choice.”Alpha Southeast Asia began conferring the award in 2009 - and Citi Philippines has been winning the award year after year for this category.
