MANILA, Philippines - The Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines (RBAP), through the Rural Bankers’ Research and Development Foundation Inc. (RBRDFI) will conduct a seminar-workshop on corporate governance and risk management for rural bank directors, as part of its continuing efforts to strengthen the rural banking industry. It will be held on Sept. 15 and 16 at the Ruby Room of the Diamond Hotel, along Roxas Blvd. cor. J. Quintos St., Manila. Pursuant to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Circular 296 prescribing the minimum qualifications of a bank director, which includes that a director ‘must have attended a special seminar for board of directors conducted or accredited by BSP...That incumbent directors as well as those who will be elected...must attend said seminar within a period of six months...from the date of their election.’
