Globe bags two MMT awards

MANILA, Philippines - GCash, the flagship mobile commerce brand of Globe Telecom, has bagged recently the honors in the world’s first Mobile Money Transfer (MMT) Awards.

GCash took the Best International Mobile Transfer Program category for its GCASH Mobile Money Transfer Hub, an inter-operable platform that allows instant multi-language, multi-currency cross border money transfer from partner financial institutions and mobile money operators (MMO) around the world direct to any Globe mobile phone subscriber in the Philippines.

GCASH shared the top recognition in this category with Western Union. The MMT Awards, held at the Mobile Money Transfer Conference and Expo in Dubai last Oct. 25, celebrates the success of mobile money and the impact that it is having on the lives of end users around the world.

GCASH was also a finalist in the Achievement in Financial Inclusion category.
