Pioneer gets ILO grant

MANILA, Philippines - The International Labor Organization (ILO) awarded Pioneer Life Inc. with an innovation grant as support for the latter’s Pamilyang OFW Savers and Wellness Club. Pioneer Life is one of 20 grantees chosen from a field of 200 applicants. The innovation grants are designed to help institutions develop new micro-insurance projects and aim to support initiatives that benefit low-income policyholders. The savers and wellness club was created in collaboration with the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP)-Episcopal Commission for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People (ECMI) to encourage overseas Filipinos and their families to manage their finances. The club aims to extend insurance benefits to every member of the overseas Filipinos’ families. Its benefits, such as personal accident insurance and burial assistance, are designed to help support overseas Filipino in emergencies like sickness and death, so that their savings can be left untouched.
