The Union Bank of the Philippines (Union Bank) has teamed up with System Access Genesys (SAG) and Total Information Management (TIM) to further leverage on advanced information technology for better customer service.
UnionBank saw the need to design and launch new and innovative credit card products to further strengthen its leadership in the credit card industry. With CardPro, it leverages on newer technology to pursue its key market differentiation strategy based on continuous innovation and unparalleled customer service.
With over 150 installations in over 30 countries, CardPro is a leading card management system that replaces UnionBanks mainframe-based legacy system. From a product-centric, the bank is now migrating to a customer-centric institution.
"We see CardPro as a key enabler to the banks ability to develop and introduce innovative credit and debit card products that exceed our customers" expectations, "Union Bank Credit Card business manager Manuel G. Santiago Jr. explains.
CardPro is a secure, tested, and complete card and payment processing solution. It is server-based and runs on a UNIX platform, thus providing a scalable architecture. Designed around the customer, it is flexible enough to design a wide variety of card products with varying price, reward, and rebate structures catering to the needs of different segments of the market. Furthermore, built-in card payment operations workflows resolve key operations issues resulting in improved customer service.
CardPro is also fully compliant with all major payment associations that include American Express, Diners Club, JCB International, MasterCard and VISA. The system also supports a full range of consumer card offerings from credit cards and debit cards to loyalty cards and prepaid cards.
The Aboitiz-led commercial bank was awarded the "Most Outstanding Credit Card Company" at the 2005 Consumers Choice Annual Awards conferred by the Consumers League of the Philippines Foundation (ConPhil). In 2004, it also won the Excellence in Credit Card Management Award from The Asian Banker Excellence in Retail Finance Services Awards.
