Conducted every year since 1999, the survey was held in seven countries in Asia, namely, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Singapore, India, Malaysia, Taiwan and Thailand. It aimed to recognize consumers most trusted brands in 42 different categories as well as provide benchmarks for consumers purchase decisions.
The survey was conducted by Readers Digest and leading international research firm, Nielsen Media Research. Both groups performed random sampling with 7,000 respondents or 1,000 respondents per market who were asked to name their most trusted brands in 42 categories and then rate them based on the following criteria: trustworthiness, credible image, quality, value, understanding of customer needs, and innovation.
The Readers Digest Gold Trusted Brand Award 2006 is another addition to the Equitables band of achievements.
